No More Braces

We are celebrating No More Braces month at our house. Lizzie got her braces off after wearing them for seven months. She does have to wear a retainer, and will get braces on in a couple of years again, just in time for Tyler to start braces I am sure. But for now, our whole family is enjoying caramel apples and O'Henry bars.

Friends

Don't get me wrong, I love my husband and kids, but there is something to say about friends. I love to hang out with them and chat, shop with them, and go out to lunch with them. Why would I pay for therapy; I have friends! I am so blessed with so many awesome friends in my life. They love me even with my faults, and will sit at my table even if it hasn't been wiped off since the last meal. We can chat for hours about nothing. We can laugh till we pee our pants. We can cry through a box of Kleenex. We enjoy Diet Cokes and treats together. Most of my very favorite friend moments include Diet Cokes, chocolate or Cafe Rio! Most of all, we are there for each other through everything. Again, why would I pay for therapy when I have these wonderful times to boost me?

Our ward does Friendship Night one Friday a month. It is a night away from our families at the church with whatever crafts we want. I LOVE FRIENDSHIP NIGHT!!!!!!!!! This is such a fun night with Friends! If I have to miss friendship night I cry. We just chat and of course eat! Some of my very best friends are a result of hours spent at friendship night.

Anyway, THANK YOU to my friends for all the hours of therapy you have provided me over all the years.

Addicted

They say the first step to overcoming addiction is to admit it. I have become addicted to TV. Ever since we got a DVR and upgraded to "real" cable a month ago, I watch TV everyday, sometimes for hours at a time. Since we moved the TV downstairs this summer, our TV watching time dropped drastically. Now I have all these new shows to watch when it is convenient for me (unfortunately, not when it is convenient for my house cleaning).

My favorite show currently is Jon and Kate plus Eight. I hate the show, but it keeps sucking me in. I can't stop watching it. Kate annoys me, but their life is fascinating to me. I wish I had the willpower to just turn it off. Even my kids are tired of watching it with me. I keep telling myself I have watched about half of their episodes, so if I can just catch up then I will only have one episode a week to keep up on. UUGGGHHHH!!!

On another note, if you need to upgrade for the digital change next week, Comcast has a reception package for $15 a month. It includes all your local channels, plus Discovery, History, and Travel. Tyler called this our fake cable. It worked for us for a long time, but I finally needed a DVR.

Can I blame the DVR need on our callings? With all the nights Jared and I are at the church, we needed to record our shows, right???
